Million-Dollar Crypto Dinner Ends in Disappointment: Guest Says Trump’s Speech Was 'Nothing But Bullshit'

May 26, 2025

A private dinner hosted by President Donald Trump for top buyers of his memecoin drew unexpected backlash after one guest publicly criticized both the food and the overall experience.

Nicholas Pinto, a social media personality who reportedly purchased $300,000 worth of the Official Trump (TRUMP) token to secure his invitation, described the May 22 event as underwhelming and questioned the value of the experience.

According to Pinto, who spoke with WIRED and Fortune, the dinner at a Trump-branded golf course featured a three-course meal that failed to meet expectations. The menu included an organic salad, filet mignon and halibut with sides, and a lava cake for dessert.

While some attendees reportedly found the meal acceptable, Pinto was unimpressed, stating he left the venue still hungry. The only redeeming item, in his view, was bread and butter.

Trump’s Dinner Food Reviews and Crypto Community Sentiment

Attendees reportedly paid millions in TRUMP tokens for access to the exclusive event, which was positioned as a celebration for major token backers and a gesture of appreciation from the Trump campaign toward its crypto-supporting base.

While the concept generated significant interest on social media, reactions post-event suggest a disconnect between expectations and reality.

Pinto’s dissatisfaction was echoed by others in attendance, though not all expressed their views publicly. Pinto compared the filet mignon to “Walmart steak,” a remark intended to emphasize the perceived quality gap between the meal served and the prestige implied by the venue.

He also joked that a fast food option, such as pizza or McDonald's, foods associated with Trump in the past, would have been preferable.

Speech Sparks Mixed Reactions Among Crypto Enthusiasts

In addition to the criticism over the food, Trump’s speech at the dinner also received lukewarm feedback. Delivered from a script, the address focused on the potential of cryptocurrency, with Trump acknowledging that “a lot of people are starting to believe in it.”

He referred to the attendees as some of the “smartest minds” and hinted at crypto being “something that may be special.”

However, Pinto characterized the speech as lacking substance and described it as “bullshit” in comments to Fortune. He also noted that Trump departed shortly after the address, leaving guests without personal interactions or the distribution of the promised watches to top token holders.

As of now, there has been no official response from Trump’s campaign regarding Pinto’s comments or broader dissatisfaction expressed online.
