Pump.fun Snatches Back Memecoin Crown From LetsBonk in 24-Hour Frenzy

The battle for memecoin launchpad dominance on Solana just got interesting again. Pump.fun, a long-standing favorite for launching new tokens, has reclaimed the top spot for daily token launches, surpassing its newer rival, LetsBonk.fun.

According to data shared on Dune Analytics by user "Adam_Tehc," Pump.fun saw over 16,061 tokens launched in the past 24 hours, while LetsBonk trailed with 11,414 tokens.

The lead is quite notable, as it marks a return to form for Pump.fun, which had recently been outpaced by LetsBonk’s rapid rise in the space. Asides this win, Pump.fun also leads in terms of trading activity, logging $100.69 million in daily volume, compared to LetsBonk's $70.59 million.

A rivalry fueled by community and liquidity

This renewed competition between the two launchpads highlights the growing appetite for memecoins on Solana. Pump.fun, often called the "legacy" platform in this niche, recently introduced its native PUMP token, raising a staggering $600 million in just 12 minutes during its ICO last month.

However, the token's value cooled quickly after launch, falling over 50% from its early peak. Onchain data suggests that Pump.fun has begun a multimillion-dollar buyback program in an attempt to stabilize the token’s price, which has rebounded 38% in the past week, now sitting at $0.003417, per CoinGecko.

LetsBonk.fun, backed by the Bonk community and integrated with Raydium's LaunchLab, has carved out its own loyal user base. Its model funnels half of its fees into buying and burning BONK tokens and supporting BONKsol staking initiatives, making community-driven growth a cornerstone of its strategy.

"Liquidity and community are the name of the game here," said Kronos Research CIO Vincent Liu. "The real question is which platform can sustain its momentum over time."

The rivalry between Pump.fun and LetsBonk shows no signs of slowing down. With memecoin launches still on fire in 2025, the next few weeks may determine whether Pump.fun can hold onto its newly reclaimed crown or if LetsBonk makes another push to dominate both token count and trading volume.
