Pudgy Penguins has tied up with Mythical Games to create a AAA Web3 video game compatible with mobile phones. The game is deemed to be “immersive” and draws upon the Pudgy Penguin lore and humor. The game will be built on Polkadot-based Mythos Chain.

To date, the Mythos Chain has fostered more than 25 million transactions resulting in a sales volume of $446.8 million. Retrospectively, the chain is home to ~500k buyers and sellers.

John Linden, Mythical Games CEO, expects the game to enhance utilization and notch up transaction, and sales volume on Mythos significantly. In the officially released statement, the executive pointed out that the Web3 gaming economy is evolving quickly. Amid the change, there remains to be a constant factor that always triumphs - games powered by strong communities and great gameplay. Further elaborating, Linded added,

“Pudgy Penguins is the only Web3 project to truly go mainstream through their incredible retail partnerships with Walmart and Target and their rapidly growing social media following. Building this with Mythical Games on the Mythical Platform and Mythos Chain, already used by millions of consumers, is going to be a major driver to further push web3 with mainstream consumers.”

Pre-release, Pudgy Penguin holders will get sneak peeks of in-game footage. In fact, they will also be able to chip in and help mold the key aspects of the game’s development.

Alongside the Pudgy Penguins community, the creators of the game are also targeting the broader gaming market. Notably, Mythical Games is the studio that has created games like NFL Rivals and Blankos Block Party, while the ‘NFT PFP’ Pudgy Penguins is associated with the Pudgy World Web game that’s based on Ethereum L2 scaling network zkSync.
